# Bookalyze > Accounting and back office for marketplace sellers: Amazon, Walmart, Noon and eBay settlements in the books, payouts matched to bank deposits, stock and landed cost, cost of goods sold, channel profit and each product's profit after ads, review requests and buyer invoices, for several companies in several countries. These are Bookalyze's own guides and feature pages, in Markdown. They describe the app as it is: screens are named the way the app names them ("Commerce → Channel profit → By product"). Anything not built yet is said so. Numbers in examples are made up. # How Bookalyze works: the path your money takes > Orders tell you what sold; settlements and payouts tell you what you were paid. Here's what comes in from each marketplace, what posts to your books and when, and why every payout passes through a clearing account on its way to your bank. Category: Getting started · Web page: https://bookalyze.com/guides/how-bookalyze-works ## Orders aren't money yet Orders arrive from Amazon, Walmart, Noon and eBay every half hour, with their items, refunds and claims. They're for running the business: searching, invoicing buyers, asking for reviews, counting units for cost of goods sold. **Orders never post to your books.** The marketplace's own money report does. | Marketplace | What posts | Into | | --- | --- | --- | | Amazon | Each settlement, as one entry | Your clearing account (e.g. Amazon Clearing) | | Walmart | Each settlement, as one entry | A Walmart balance account | | Noon | Each country's month, as one entry | A Noon balance account | | eBay | Each site's month, as one entry | An eBay balance account | ## Why a clearing account A settlement holds sales, refunds, fees, advertising, tax and amounts held back, and ends with what the marketplace pays you. The entry puts each group on its own account and the payout on the **clearing account**: money that's yours but not in the bank yet. When the payout lands, Bookalyze finds the deposit in your bank and **matches** it: the deposit moves to the clearing account, which goes back to zero. Your sales are counted once, from the settlement, and the deposit isn't counted as income a second time. > **Tip:** If you used to categorise marketplace deposits as sales (the way many people do in Wave), matching moves them for you. That's the double counting the clearing account removes. ## What runs on its own - **Every half hour:** orders from every connected marketplace. - **Every day:** settlements and marketplace money, Wise bank lines, exchange rates. - **If you switch it on:** new settlements and months posted automatically, and deposits with exactly one exact match matched for you. - **Every hour:** automatic review requests, if you use them. - **Every month, by you:** cost of goods sold, once the month is over. ## What you should see What you should see: - [ ] Commerce → Settlements lists your settlements as **Ready to post**, then **In books** - [ ] After matching, the clearing account's balance is close to zero (only payouts still on their way) - [ ] Home's **Needs your attention** lists anything waiting on you ## Related guides - [Your first week: from sign-up to the first matched payout](https://bookalyze.com/guides/your-first-week.md): A checklist that gets a selling business fully set up: company, bank, marketplaces, posting, the first matched payout, and stock. - [How payouts post to your books](https://bookalyze.com/guides/how-payouts-post.md): Choose an account for each kind of money (sales, refunds, fees, ads, tax, held back) and a clearing or balance account for the payout, pick the day posting starts, then post by hand or automatically. Each company you run is completely separate, with its own books, team and connections. Category: Getting started · Web page: https://bookalyze.com/guides/create-your-company ## The set-up wizard After signing up, the wizard asks a few questions. Each one has a hint; nothing is hard to change later except the main currency, which every amount is reported in. 1. **Name and business type.** The name you trade under, and what kind of business it is. 2. **Country and region.** Where the company is registered. It picks the right sales tax pack and the compliance calendar. 3. **Main currency.** What your books are kept in: usually your country's currency. Marketplaces and banks in other currencies are converted at each day's rate. 4. **Time zone and language format.** Dates and the daily jobs follow your time zone. 5. **When does your financial year end?.** Any month and day. A company in its first year can have a short first year. ## Switch on what you need **Where in Bookalyze:** Settings → Features Each part of Bookalyze is a feature you can switch on or off: Accounting, Banking, Entity & compliance, Commerce, Inventory and Review requests. Some need others (Commerce needs Accounting; Inventory and Review requests need Commerce), and the page says so. > **Tip:** A company that only keeps books can leave Commerce off. The sidebar only shows what's on. ## Another company Use the company switcher to add another. A Canadian corporation and a Dubai trading licence each get their own currency, tax, financial year, team and connections, and one company can never see another's data. ## What you should see What you should see: - [ ] Home greets you with the getting-started steps - [ ] Accounting → Chart of accounts has a ready-made chart you can edit - [ ] Settings shows your country, currency and financial year ## Related guides - [Invite your team and your accountant](https://bookalyze.com/guides/invite-your-team.md): Invite people to one company at a time, as an owner, admin or member. Give people the role they need. ## Invite someone **Where in Bookalyze:** Settings → Team members 1. **Enter their email and choose a role.** They get an email invitation to this company only. 2. **They accept.** With a new account, or the one they already have. They then see this company in their switcher. Every change anyone makes is recorded in the company's audit log: who, what and when. ## Related guides - [Create your company](https://bookalyze.com/guides/create-your-company.md): Name, country, main currency, time zone and financial year, then switch on the parts the business needs. It runs in your browser, can be undone, and the file is never stored. Category: Getting started · Web page: https://bookalyze.com/guides/move-from-wave ## Export from your old software Bookalyze reads one file of journal lines: one row per line of each transaction. The import wizard shows the export steps for Wave, QuickBooks, Xero, Zoho Books and Sage, and works with any other program that can export the same. > **Tip:** From Wave: Settings → Data export → Accounting transactions (CSV). ## Import **Where in Bookalyze:** Accounting → Import (owners and admins) 1. **Choose the program and the file.** The file is read in your browser; nothing is uploaded until you confirm. 2. **Check the columns.** Bookalyze guesses the date, account, debit and credit (or amount) columns, with a live preview. 3. **Match the accounts.** Each old account is matched to yours by code or name, or created with the right type. 4. **Review and import.** Rows that don't balance or have a bad date are listed with their line numbers and left out. Dates in a closed period are blocked, and you're warned if the books already have entries in those dates. On the review step, add Wave's customer and vendor lists too: emails, phones and addresses fill in the contacts (bank account numbers are never read). ## Receipts from Wave Wave exports receipts as files named like **2026-03-14-Office_Depot.pdf**. Upload them on the Import page: each is attached to the transaction within 3 days that best matches the name. Anything unclear goes to the Receipts inbox, so nothing is attached to the wrong line. ## Import twice, or undo - Importing the same file again only adds what's new. - **Undo** on the import list removes that import's entries, and its accounts and contacts if nothing else uses them. - Undo is refused if an imported entry was edited since, or falls in a closed period. ## Not yet - Amounts are taken in your main currency (Wave exports converted amounts). - Wave's separate bills file isn't read; bills reach the books through the transactions file. ## What you should see What you should see: - [ ] The import list shows the batch with how many entries it added - [ ] Accounting → Reports → Trial balance agrees with your old software's for the same date - [ ] Matched receipts show a file icon on their transactions ## Related guides - [Transactions: review, categorise, split, copy, remove](https://bookalyze.com/guides/transactions.md): Every line that moves money in or out of a bank, card or cash account, in one list. About 15 minutes, plus Amazon's review of a new developer profile. Category: Marketplaces · Web page: https://bookalyze.com/guides/connect-amazon ## What you'll need Amazon lets a seller build a **private app** that only reads their own account. Bookalyze uses yours, so your data goes from Amazon straight into your company. You'll paste four things into Bookalyze: | Value | Where it comes from | | --- | --- | | Region | North America, Europe (with the Middle East and India), or Far East | | LWA client ID | Your app in Seller Central → Develop Apps | | LWA client secret | The same place, next to the client ID | | Refresh token | Made when you choose Authorize on the app | > **Note:** You need to be the primary account holder, or a user with permission to manage apps, to do this in Seller Central. ## 1. Register as a developer (first time only) 1. **Open Develop Apps.** In Seller Central, open **Apps and Services → Develop Apps**. If you've never built an app, Amazon asks you to fill in a **developer profile** first. 2. **Choose a private developer.** Say you're building an app to integrate **your own business** with Amazon (a private developer), not one to sell to other sellers. 3. **Pick the roles you'll need.** Tick the roles in the table below. A role your profile doesn't have can't be given to an app later without updating the profile. 4. **Wait for Amazon.** Amazon reviews new developer profiles. It can take a few days; you'll get an email when it's approved. > **Tip:** Each Amazon region is a separate seller account. If you sell in North America and in the UAE, you make one app, and authorise it once for each region's account. ## 2. Which roles to give the app Bookalyze only asks Amazon for what each feature needs. Give the app the roles for the features you'll use; you can add more later. | Role in Seller Central | What Bookalyze uses it for | | --- | --- | | Inventory and Order Tracking | Orders and their items | | Finance and Accounting | Settlements, refunds, and checking refunds before a review request | | Buyer Solicitation | Review requests (Amazon's own Request a Review) | | Buyer Communication | Sending a buyer invoice through Amazon | | Tax Invoicing | The buyer's name and tax number on an invoice (only if your profile has it) | | Amazon Fulfillment | FBA stock and the FBA inventory ledger | | Product Listing | Listing watch, and changing prices | | Pricing | Prices, offers and Amazon's fee estimates | | Selling Partner Insights | Review topics on listing watch (some stores only) | > **Caution:** Don't tick a role your developer profile doesn't have (Tax Invoicing is the usual one). Amazon then refuses the whole connection check, and Bookalyze shows Amazon's own words so you can see which. ## 3. Create the app and authorise it 1. **Add a new app client.** In **Develop Apps**, choose **Add new app client**. Name it ("Bookalyze" is fine), choose the **SP API** type and tick the roles from the table. 2. **Copy the LWA credentials.** Open the app's **LWA credentials** (View). Copy the **client ID** and the **client secret**. 3. **Authorise it for your account.** Choose **Authorize** on the app, then **Authorize app**. Amazon shows a **refresh token** once. Copy it. > **Caution:** Treat the client secret and refresh token like passwords. Paste them only into Bookalyze. If one leaks, rotate the secret in Develop Apps and authorise again. ## 4. Paste them into Bookalyze **Where in Bookalyze:** Commerce → Channels → Add a channel → Amazon 1. **Choose the region.** The region of the seller account you authorised: North America (Amazon.com, .ca, .com.mx), Europe (including Amazon.ae, .sa, .eg and India), or Far East. 2. **Paste the client ID, client secret and refresh token.** Bookalyze checks them with Amazon straight away and saves them encrypted. You won't see them again. 3. **Choose your marketplaces.** Every marketplace the account sells on becomes a channel in its own currency. Switch off the ones you don't use. 4. **Choose when orders start.** On Commerce → Orders, pick the day to bring orders in from (the start of your financial year is the default, up to two years back). What you should see: - [ ] The Amazon region shows **Connected** on Commerce → Channels - [ ] Your marketplaces are listed, each in its currency - [ ] Orders start arriving within minutes (a first sync of thousands takes a few hours, on its own) ## Changing roles later When you add a role to the app (say Buyer Solicitation, to start review requests), Amazon only applies it to a **new** refresh token. Choose Authorize again in Develop Apps, then on the channel's page choose **Replace credentials** and paste the new token. ## If something goes wrong | You see | What to do | | --- | --- | | Amazon refused the credentials | Check the client ID and secret were copied whole, and the refresh token is from Authorize, not the secret. | | A role is missing (Bookalyze names it) | Add the role to the app, authorise again, and paste the new refresh token. | | Access denied on Amazon.ae, .sa or .eg | Usually a role the developer profile lacks (Tax Invoicing, or Selling Partner Insights). Remove it from the app, or add it to the profile, then authorise again. | ## Related guides - [Channels: switch off, say who ships, remove, disconnect](https://bookalyze.com/guides/channels.md): Every Amazon marketplace, Walmart country, Noon country and eBay site is a channel in its own currency. It's Amazon's own Request a Review, so it's within Amazon's rules. --- # Connect Walmart: create an API key > Add your Walmart countries, then create a client ID and secret in Walmart's Developer Portal for each one and paste them on the country's channel page. About 10 minutes. Category: Marketplaces · Web page: https://bookalyze.com/guides/connect-walmart ## Before you start Walmart's US, Canada and Mexico seller accounts are separate, so each country is its own channel with **its own key**. Connect only the countries you sell in. **Where in Bookalyze:** Commerce → Channels → Add a channel → Walmart 1. **Add the country.** Choose the United States, Canada or Mexico. 2. **Say who ships.** Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS), you, or both. Bookalyze reads the matching order lists, and WFS stock when Walmart ships. ## Create the key in Walmart's Developer Portal 1. **Sign in to the Developer Portal.** Go to **developer.walmart.com** and sign in with the same login as your **Seller Center** account for that country. 2. **Open API key management.** Add a new key (or use an existing one) for your own account. 3. **Give it access to three areas.** **Orders**, **Reports** and **Inventory**. View only is enough: Bookalyze never changes anything on Walmart. 4. **Copy the client ID and client secret.** The secret is shown when the key is made. Keep it like a password. ## Paste it into Bookalyze **Where in Bookalyze:** Commerce → Channels → (your Walmart country) → Walmart account → Connect Walmart Bookalyze gets a token from Walmart with the key, asks Walmart what the key can see, and saves it encrypted. Anything missing gets a warning: give the key that access in the portal and choose **Test connection**. What you should see: - [ ] The country shows **Connected**, with "Key ending …" (the last four characters) - [ ] Orders, Reports and Inventory each show the access you gave - [ ] On Commerce → Orders, the country's orders start to arrive - [ ] On the channel's **Walmart settlements** card, **Bring in from Walmart** brings in Walmart's settlement reports ## Replacing or removing the key - **Replace key** takes a new client ID and secret, for example after you rotate it in the portal. - **Disconnect** deletes the key from Bookalyze. The channel keeps its orders, settlements and history. ## Related guides - [Walmart settlements: bring in, check, post](https://bookalyze.com/guides/walmart-settlements.md): Walmart's settlement reports come in row by row. Bookalyze adds them up to Walmart's payout, posts only the ones that do, and posts a settlement again when Walmart corrects it. - [Stock in one place: your books against Amazon, Noon, Walmart and your count](https://bookalyze.com/guides/stock-overview.md): One row per product: units in your books, what Amazon, Noon and Walmart hold, what you counted yourself, and the difference. - [Channels: switch off, say who ships, remove, disconnect](https://bookalyze.com/guides/channels.md): Every Amazon marketplace, Walmart country, Noon country and eBay site is a channel in its own currency. One key covers every Noon country. Category: Marketplaces · Web page: https://bookalyze.com/guides/connect-noon ## Add your Noon countries **Where in Bookalyze:** Commerce → Channels → Add a channel → Noon Choose the UAE, Saudi Arabia or Egypt, and who ships the orders: **Fulfilled by Noon (FBN)**, **Fulfilled by you (FBP)**, or both. Add each country you sell in. ## Create the service account 1. **Open API users.** Sign in at **access.noon.partners**, then **User & Access → API Users**. 2. **Add Service Account.** Give it a name, and a role that can **download reports**, such as **Project Owner** or **Project Admin**. 3. **Leave the IP whitelist empty.** Bookalyze runs on servers without a fixed address, so a whitelist would block it. 4. **Download the key file.** Noon gives you a **.json** key file **once**. Save it somewhere safe; if it's lost, make a new service account. ## Choose the file in Bookalyze **Where in Bookalyze:** Commerce → Channels → (a Noon country) → Noon's API → Connect Noon's API The file is read in your browser and sent once. Bookalyze keeps only what it needs to sign in (the key ID, private key and project code), encrypted, and signs in to Noon to check it. What you should see: - [ ] Noon's API shows **Connected** with your project - [ ] "N reports available, payouts included": the payouts report (the transaction view) is what posts Noon to your books - [ ] On Commerce → Settlements → Noon, **Bring in from Noon** fetches a year of transactions > **Caution:** If the key has no payouts report, Bookalyze warns you. Give the service account a role with finance access in Noon's portal, then choose **Test connection**. ## No API? Upload instead Everything also works from files: download **Finance → Transaction view** (CSV) from Noon's seller portal and upload it on Commerce → Settlements → Noon. Connect the key whenever you're ready. ## Related guides - [Noon: transactions, months and the balance check](https://bookalyze.com/guides/noon-months.md): Noon keeps a balance instead of sending settlements. Category: Marketplaces · Web page: https://bookalyze.com/guides/connect-ebay ## Connect **Where in Bookalyze:** Commerce → Channels → Add a channel → eBay 1. **Add your eBay sites.** US, Canada, UK, Australia, Germany, France, Italy or Spain, each in its currency. 2. **Choose Connect eBay.** On a site's page, under eBay account. You're taken to eBay. 3. **Sign in and agree.** eBay shows what Bookalyze can read: orders (read-only), finances, and your account details. Agree, and you're brought back. What you should see: - [ ] A message says eBay is connected, and every eBay site shows **Connected** - [ ] Orders arrive on Commerce → Orders - [ ] Commerce → Settlements → eBay fills with each site's months ## Good to know - eBay's consent lasts about 18 months. When it runs out, the channel shows **Needs attention**: choose **Connect again**. - **Disconnect** deletes the sign-in; your sites keep their history. - UK and EU sellers: eBay asks for signed finance requests, which are coming. Until then, upload Seller Hub's transaction report for those sites. ## Related guides - [eBay money: months, payouts and the Seller Hub report](https://bookalyze.com/guides/ebay-months.md): eBay's transactions come from its Finances API a month at a time. Amazon makes your marketplaces from your account: connect it once and every marketplace you're registered in appears. Walmart countries, Noon countries and eBay sites you add one by one. ## A channel's page - **Switch it on or off.** Off, nothing more is brought in from it; what's already in stays. - **Who ships** (Walmart and Noon): the marketplace (WFS, FBN), you, or both. - **Its orders:** the Orders list filtered to this channel. - **The account behind it:** test the connection, replace the keys, or disconnect. ## Remove one added by mistake A Walmart country, Noon country or eBay site added on the wrong company can be removed from its page (owners and admins). Its orders, transactions, stock movements, SKU links and prices go with it; your books don't change. > **Caution:** Removing is only allowed while nothing of the channel is in the books: no posted settlements, months or cost of goods sold, and no matched payouts. The button says what to take out first. Amazon marketplaces can't be removed (they come from your account); switch them off instead. ## Disconnect an account Disconnecting deletes the saved keys. The account's channels are switched off and their orders and settlements are hidden, but anything already in your books stays and still shows. Connect the same seller account again and everything comes back. Connecting a different seller account in the same region makes new channels, so two sellers' data never mix. ## What you should see What you should see: - [ ] Each marketplace you sell on is listed once, in its own currency - [ ] Marketplaces you don't sell on show **Switched off** - [ ] A channel with a problem shows **Needs attention** with the reason, and Home lists it ## Related guides - [Connect Amazon: get your Selling Partner API keys](https://bookalyze.com/guides/connect-amazon.md): Create a private Selling Partner API app for your own seller account, give it the roles Bookalyze needs, and paste its client ID, client secret and refresh token. After that orders arrive every five minutes. A large first sync of thousands of Amazon orders takes a few hours, on its own, because Amazon only allows so many requests. **Bring in new orders** fetches the latest straight away. ## Find an order - Tabs: **All**, **Open**, **Shipped**, **Cancelled**, **Refunded**. - Search by order number, SKU, ASIN or product title. - Filter by marketplace and by the dates it was placed. - A sales card per marketplace and currency; click one to see only that marketplace. ## Badges | Badge | Means | | --- | --- | | Refunded / Partly refunded | Everything, or part, of what the buyer paid came back | | A-to-z claim / Chargeback | The buyer claimed through Amazon or their card | | Replaced / Replacement | A replacement was sent; each links to the other | > **Tip:** Amazon refunds and claims come from its Finances API, so your Amazon app needs the Finance and Accounting role. ## The order page Items with SKU and ASIN, shipping, tax, discounts and the total, who ships it, Prime, Business and Replacement, each refund, and **Open in Seller Central**. Amazon orders also have **Create invoice** and the review request box. **No buyer details are kept on orders**: only the ship-to country and region, which sales tax needs. ## What you should see What you should see: - [ ] Orders from each switched-on marketplace, newest first - [ ] Refunded orders show a red badge and appear under **Refunded** - [ ] Home's glance shows orders, units and sales for the last 7, 30 or 90 days ## Related guides - [Create a buyer's invoice and send it through Amazon](https://bookalyze.com/guides/buyer-invoices.md): A tax invoice (or a plain invoice when you're not registered) drawn from the order in seconds, in English and Arabic, and sent to the buyer through Amazon without leaving Bookalyze. - [Ask for reviews by hand or in bulk](https://bookalyze.com/guides/review-requests.md): See every Amazon order you can ask for a review, ask one, a selection, or every ready order at once, and leave out the ones you'd rather not ask. - [How Bookalyze works: the path your money takes](https://bookalyze.com/guides/how-bookalyze-works.md): Orders tell you what sold; settlements and payouts tell you what you were paid. Here's what comes in from each marketplace, what posts to your books and when, and why every payout passes through a clearing account on its way to your bank. --- # How payouts post to your books > Choose an account for each kind of money (sales, refunds, fees, ads, tax, held back) and a clearing or balance account for the payout, pick the day posting starts, then post by hand or automatically. The same idea for Amazon, Walmart, Noon and eBay. Category: Payouts in your books · Web page: https://bookalyze.com/guides/how-payouts-post ## One entry per payout period Each marketplace sends its money differently, but they all post the same way: **one entry** per Amazon or Walmart settlement, or per Noon country's or eBay site's month. Each kind of money goes to its own account, and what the marketplace owes you goes to a **clearing** or **balance** account until it reaches your bank. | Marketplace | Choose accounts on | Payout goes to | | --- | --- | --- | | Amazon | Commerce → Settlements → How settlements post | A clearing account (ideally Money in transit) | | Walmart | Commerce → Settlements → Walmart → How Walmart posts | A Walmart balance account | | Noon | Commerce → Settlements → Noon → How Noon posts | A Noon balance account | | eBay | Commerce → Settlements → eBay → How eBay posts | An eBay balance account | ## Choose the accounts 1. **Pick an account for each group.** Sales, refunds, promotions, the marketplace's fees, advertising, sales tax, reimbursements, held back and released, other. The first time, accounts are suggested from your chart's names; check them. Each list has **Add a new account**. 2. **Pick the clearing or balance account.** An asset, ideally of the **Money in transit** kind. It holds the payout until the bank deposit is matched. 3. **Choose when posting starts.** By default the start of your financial year. Settlements or months before it are listed but never posted. 4. **Save, then post.** Post one to see the entry, or **Post N ready**. Once it looks right, switch on **Post automatically**: the daily job posts what's ready. ## Tax the marketplace collects Where Amazon or Walmart collects and pays sales tax for you, the tax the buyer paid and the tax the marketplace withheld are in the same group, so they cancel out. Map that group to your sales tax account; it never counts as income. **Tax on Amazon's fees** (VAT, GST/HST) has its own line: map it to your fees (a cost) if you're not registered, or to your recoverable tax account if you are. ## Change your mind - **Take out of books** reverses an entry on its own date. - **Post again** reverses and reposts with the accounts as they are now, keeping a matched deposit matched. - A Noon or eBay month, or a Walmart settlement, that changes after posting shows **Changed since posted**; Post again brings it up to date. ## What you should see What you should see: - [ ] Each posted settlement or month says **In books** with its entry number (JE-…) - [ ] The entry's lines add up: groups on their accounts, the payout on clearing - [ ] Profit and loss shows sales, fees and ads on their own lines ## Related guides - [Match each payout to its bank deposit](https://bookalyze.com/guides/match-payouts.md): Matching pairs a marketplace payout with the deposit in your bank and moves that deposit to the clearing or balance account, so your sales are counted once. Upload older ones, or rebuild years of history from one date range transaction report, then post each as one entry. Category: Payouts in your books · Web page: https://bookalyze.com/guides/amazon-settlements ## Bring them in **Where in Bookalyze:** Commerce → Settlements The daily job brings in new settlement reports; **Bring in settlements** asks straight away. Amazon lists about the last 90 days, and rations requests hard, so a first look can take a few rounds. It needs the **Finance and Accounting** role. ## Older settlements **Upload settlement files** (admins) takes two kinds of file. Both are read in your browser. | File | Where in Seller Central | Good for | | --- | --- | --- | | Flat File V2 | Payments → All statements | One settlement per file | | Date range transaction report | Payments → Reports Repository → Transaction, custom range | Every settlement back to the start, in one CSV, plus older orders | The transaction report has no reserve lines, so Bookalyze works out what Amazon **held back and released** from each payout, and the payouts still match your bank. Settlements already here are kept as they are. ## Read a settlement Each settlement's page groups its lines in plain names ("Referral fee", not "Commission") with subtotals: sales, refunds, promotions, Amazon fees, tax on Amazon's fees, advertising, tax Amazon collects and pays, reimbursements, held back and released, other. A settlement whose lines don't add up to Amazon's total says **Check**. A **negative settlement** (fees and refunds above sales, say a quiet month with the plan fee) shows **No payout**: Amazon charges your card or carries it into the next one. ## Post it With the accounts chosen (see How payouts post), **Post to books** makes one entry dated the period's last day, referenced with Amazon's settlement ID. A settlement in another currency (Amazon.ae in a Canadian company) posts at that day's rate and says so. ## What you should see What you should see: - [ ] The list shows each settlement's period, marketplace, deposit date and amount - [ ] **Ready to post**, then **In books · match deposit**, then **In books · deposit matched** - [ ] Nothing earned left in the clearing account once deposits are matched ## Related guides - [How payouts post to your books](https://bookalyze.com/guides/how-payouts-post.md): Choose an account for each kind of money (sales, refunds, fees, ads, tax, held back) and a clearing or balance account for the payout, pick the day posting starts, then post by hand or automatically. About 15 minutes, plus Amazon's review of a new developer profile. --- # Walmart settlements: bring in, check, post > Walmart's settlement reports come in row by row. Bookalyze adds them up to Walmart's payout, posts only the ones that do, and posts a settlement again when Walmart corrects it. Category: Payouts in your books · Web page: https://bookalyze.com/guides/walmart-settlements ## Bring them in On a Walmart country's channel page, **Bring in from Walmart** downloads every settlement report Walmart lists that isn't here yet. The daily job does the same once the country is connected. Each report's rows are kept as Walmart sent them, **without buyers' names or addresses**. ## How Walmart's rows are read Each row says what an amount is for. Bookalyze groups them: sales, refunds, Walmart's fees, WFS fees (fulfilment, storage, inbound, prep), advertising, shipping labels, tax (collected and withheld cancel out) and other. > **Caution:** A settlement whose rows don't add up to Walmart's payout, or with an amount that can't be read, shows **Needs a look** with the reason, and never posts. > **Caution:** This reading was built from Walmart's published report layout. Check your first settlement against Seller Center before switching on automatic posting. ## Post and match **Where in Bookalyze:** Commerce → Settlements → Walmart 1. **Choose how Walmart posts.** An account per group and a Walmart balance account; the day posting starts; automatic posting if you want it. 2. **Post.** Each settlement becomes one entry on its period's last day, in Walmart's currency at that day's rate. 3. **Match the payout.** Payouts to your bank lists the suggested deposit: Match, Not this one or Unmatch. A settlement Walmart corrects shows **Changed since posted**; Post again brings it up to date. ## Not yet - Uploading Seller Center's report by hand. - WFS's inventory ledger (returns and losses). ## What you should see What you should see: - [ ] Each settlement with its sales, fees, WFS fees, advertising, labels and payout - [ ] **Ready to post** for ones that add up; **Needs a look** with a reason for any that don't - [ ] Walmart in Channel profit, beside Amazon ## Related guides - [Connect Walmart: create an API key](https://bookalyze.com/guides/connect-walmart.md): Add your Walmart countries, then create a client ID and secret in Walmart's Developer Portal for each one and paste them on the country's channel page. Works in any bank account and any currency. --- # Noon: transactions, months and the balance check > Noon keeps a balance instead of sending settlements. Bookalyze brings in every row of Noon's transaction view, posts each country's month as one entry, matches each payment to your bank and checks your books agree with Noon. Category: Payouts in your books · Web page: https://bookalyze.com/guides/noon-months ## Bring Noon's rows in **Where in Bookalyze:** Commerce → Settlements → Noon With Noon's API connected, **Bring in from Noon** reads a year back, a month at a time, then re-reads the last three weeks for late fees and updates. Without the API, upload Noon's **transaction view** (seller portal → Finance → Transaction view, CSV); everything else works the same. Rows are filed by currency: AED to Noon UAE, SAR to Noon KSA, EGP to Noon Egypt. Bringing the same rows in again refreshes them; nothing counts twice. ## How Noon's rows are grouped | Noon's type | Goes to | | --- | --- | | Order | Sales, with referral, fulfilment and other fees split out | | Order Update | Returns and order changes | | Statement Fee | Advertising (when it says so), else Noon's fees | | Balance Transfer | Moved to another Noon contract | | Payment | Not earnings: the payout to your bank | ## Post each month Once a month is over, **Post** makes one entry on its last day (reference like NOON-2026-09), each group to its account and what the month earned to the Noon balance. A month whose rows change later shows **Changed since posted**. > **Caution:** Noon's fees include VAT. Today that VAT posts with the fees, as a cost, which is right if you're not VAT-registered. Splitting it out as recoverable input VAT isn't built yet. ## Payouts and the balance check Each payment row finds the bank deposit of the same amount, a few days either side. **Match** moves it into the Noon balance, so it stops counting as income. The **balance check** compares the Noon balance in your books with what Noon's rows say it owes; when everything is posted and matched it says **Your books agree with Noon**. ## What you should see What you should see: - [ ] Each country's months with sales, fees, advertising and what they earned - [ ] Paid out to your bank shown on its own, not as a loss - [ ] The balance check reads **Your books agree with Noon** ## Related guides - [Connect Noon: make a service account key file](https://bookalyze.com/guides/connect-noon.md): Create a service account in Noon's partner portal, download its .json key file, and choose it in Bookalyze. Its summary shows what Noon holds, and Bookalyze checks the two reports agree. --- # eBay money: months, payouts and the Seller Hub report > eBay's transactions come from its Finances API a month at a time. Each site's month posts as one entry and each payout is matched to your bank. Seller Hub's transaction report fills in history, or stands in where the API can't be used yet. Category: Payouts in your books · Web page: https://bookalyze.com/guides/ebay-months ## Bring eBay's money in **Where in Bookalyze:** Commerce → Settlements → eBay Once eBay is connected, a year of rows comes in a month at a time, and the last three weeks are read again for late changes. Each row sits on its order's eBay site. Sales have their fees split out; transfers and withdrawals are money moved, not earnings. ## Seller Hub's transaction report Upload Seller Hub → Payments → Reports → **Transaction report** (CSV) to fill in history. Rows on days eBay's API already brought in are left out, and the API replaces report rows when it reads those days, so nothing counts twice. > **Caution:** eBay asks UK and EU sellers' finance requests to be digitally signed, which Bookalyze doesn't do yet. Until then, those sellers upload the report. ## Post and match With How eBay posts set up, each site's month posts on its last day (reference like EBAY-2026-09). **Payouts to your bank** suggests each payout's deposit; only payouts eBay says were sent can be matched. ## What you should see What you should see: - [ ] Each eBay site's months with sales, refunds, fees, ads and labels - [ ] Payouts listed with their bank deposit, matched - [ ] eBay sites in Channel profit, each in its own column ## Related guides - [Connect eBay: no keys needed](https://bookalyze.com/guides/connect-ebay.md): eBay is the one marketplace without keys to copy: you agree on eBay's own page, with read-only access, and one connection covers every eBay site you sell on. - [How payouts post to your books](https://bookalyze.com/guides/how-payouts-post.md): Choose an account for each kind of money (sales, refunds, fees, ads, tax, held back) and a clearing or balance account for the payout, pick the day posting starts, then post by hand or automatically. Works in any bank account and any currency. Category: Payouts in your books · Web page: https://bookalyze.com/guides/match-payouts ## Why it matters The posted settlement already counts your sales and fees. If the bank deposit is also categorised as sales, the same money is counted twice. Matching moves the deposit to the clearing account instead: clearing goes back to zero and income is right. ## Find and match A posted settlement or month shows the possible deposits: the exact amount, in any of your bank accounts, from a few days before the marketplace's date to ten days after, closest first, with where each is categorised now. - **Match** moves it. Its bank link, receipts and reviewed tick stay with it. - **Not this one** turns a deposit down for this payout. - **Unmatch** puts the deposit back as it was. - **Match N deposits** matches every payout with exactly one possible deposit, in one go. ## Another currency An Amazon.ae payout in dirhams that lands in a Canadian dollar account is offered when it's within 10% of the market rate on the deposit date. You see the bank's rate, how far it is from the market and the exchange difference, then **Match at this rate**: the difference goes to gain or loss on foreign exchange. Converted payouts are never matched in bulk or by the daily job. ## When Amazon charged you A negative Amazon settlement is matched to the money Amazon took from your card or bank the same way, so the fees aren't counted twice. If Amazon carried the balance into the next settlement instead, there's nothing to match. ## Automatically With automatic posting on, the daily job matches deposits that have exactly one exact fit and are still uncategorised or only in the sales account. Anything else waits for you. ## What you should see What you should see: - [ ] The settlement says **deposit matched**, with the date and bank account - [ ] The deposit now shows the clearing account as its category - [ ] The clearing account's balance is only what's still on its way ## Related guides - [How payouts post to your books](https://bookalyze.com/guides/how-payouts-post.md): Choose an account for each kind of money (sales, refunds, fees, ads, tax, held back) and a clearing or balance account for the payout, pick the day posting starts, then post by hand or automatically. Category: Banking · Web page: https://bookalyze.com/guides/connect-wise ## Why Wise Most marketplace sellers get paid in several currencies. Wise holds them all, and with the sync, every Wise transaction lands in your books on its own: categorised by your rules, conversions between your balances recorded as one transfer, and Wise's fees as their own line. ## Create the token in Wise 1. **Open Settings → API tokens.** At **wise.com/settings/api-tokens**. For a company, switch to the **business profile** first. 2. **Add a new token.** Choose **Read only** permission. Bookalyze never moves money. 3. **Copy it.** You'll paste it in the next step. > **Caution:** Wise asks for an extra signed check (strong customer authentication) on profiles outside the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Malaysia, for example a UAE business. The sync says so plainly for now; upload Wise's statements for those profiles until signing is supported. ## Connect it in Bookalyze **Where in Bookalyze:** Banking → Bank accounts → Connect Wise 1. **Paste the token.** Stored encrypted, used only to sync. 2. **Pick the Wise profile.** Personal or business. 3. **Map each balance.** Each Wise currency balance to a new or existing bank account in your books. 4. **Choose the start date and fee account.** Transactions from that day come in; Wise's fees go to the account you choose. What you should see: - [ ] Transactions appear straight away, and every day after on their own - [ ] Bank accounts shows **what Wise says** next to **your balance in Bookalyze**, and "Matches" - [ ] Anything that looks like a transaction already in your books is flagged as a possible duplicate, not added twice ## Related guides - [Bank rules: categorise the routine automatically](https://bookalyze.com/guides/bank-rules.md): A rule puts every bank line whose description contains some words into a category, as it arrives. Category: Banking · Web page: https://bookalyze.com/guides/upload-bank-statements ## Upload **Where in Bookalyze:** Banking → Bank accounts → Upload a statement 1. **Choose the account and the file.** Any CSV your bank exports. 2. **Match the columns, the first time.** Date, description, one amount column or separate money out and money in, reference, and an optional **balance** column. A five-row preview and the date range show you've got it right. 3. **Upload.** Later uploads to the same account reuse the columns (**Change columns** to adjust). A file holding several accounts has an account-number column: pick the one you want. Only the last four digits are kept, never the number. ## Nothing twice - The same statement, or one that overlaps, only adds what's new. - Two identical lines on the same day (two coffees) are both kept. - Rules categorise matching lines as they arrive, and possible duplicates are flagged, just as with Wise. ## Bank balance beside the books With a balance column, each account shows **what the bank says** next to **its balance in Bookalyze**: "Matches", or "The bank has X more". Reconcile to find the difference. ## What you should see What you should see: - [ ] The account's card shows the last upload and its balance - [ ] New lines on Accounting → Transactions, uncategorised unless a rule caught them - [ ] Uploading the same file again says nothing new was added ## Related guides - [Connect Wise: make a read-only API token](https://bookalyze.com/guides/connect-wise.md): Create a read-only token in Wise, paste it into Bookalyze, and every Wise balance syncs to your books each day, in every currency, with fees split out. - [Bank rules: categorise the routine automatically](https://bookalyze.com/guides/bank-rules.md): A rule puts every bank line whose description contains some words into a category, as it arrives. Rules run in order; the first that matches wins. > **Tip:** In a transaction's dialog, **Make a rule** opens the form filled in from it. ## Suggested rules When you've categorised the same payee the same way by hand at least three times in the last year, it appears under **Suggested for you**. Make this rule opens it filled in; the X turns it down for good. ## What you should see What you should see: - [ ] Rule-categorised transactions show a wand on the Transactions list - [ ] They stay unreviewed, so you still tick them - [ ] Each rule says how many transactions it has categorised ## Related guides - [Transactions: review, categorise, split, copy, remove](https://bookalyze.com/guides/transactions.md): Every line that moves money in or out of a bank, card or cash account, in one list. Category: Invoices · Web page: https://bookalyze.com/guides/buyer-invoices ## What it is A PDF for the buyer, made from the order: your company's details, the items, shipping, discounts and the total. It **doesn't post to your books**; the settlement already records the sale. | Your company | The PDF says | | --- | --- | | Has an active sales-tax registration in its own country, with a number | **Tax invoice** (فاتورة ضريبية), with your TRN or GST number | | Isn't registered | **Invoice** (فاتورة) and "Not registered for VAT" (or GST/HST); tax Amazon reported is shown as Amazon's | Arabic names, addresses and titles read correctly inside English lines. The invoice notes that Amazon already collected the payment, and any refund on the order. ## Create it **Where in Bookalyze:** Commerce → Orders → an order → Create invoice (owners and admins) 1. **Check the buyer.** With the **Tax Invoicing** role, Bookalyze asks Amazon for the buyer's name, company and tax number. Their email is never kept. Type the street address if the invoice needs one. 2. **Save.** The first invoice is INV-0001; each one after takes the next number. 3. **Send to Amazon.** Uploads the PDF and sends it to the buyer through Amazon's messaging. The order shows when it was sent and by whom. > **Tip:** Without the Tax Invoicing role the form still works: type the buyer's details yourself. Sending needs the **Buyer Communication** role. ## Correct it **Correct details** replaces the PDF and keeps the number. Each order has one invoice. **Download** gives you the file, for Seller Central or email. ## Before your first invoice - Your company's **registered address** (Entity & compliance → Profile). - Your sales-tax registration, if you have one (Accounting → Sales tax). - Optional: your logo and letterhead (Entity & compliance → Brand). ## What you should see What you should see: - [ ] The order shows the invoice number and a Download button - [ ] After sending, the order says **Sent** with the date - [ ] A buyer's open invoice request closes when you send ## Not yet - Sending through Walmart, Noon or eBay (download the PDF and send it there). - Invoices that post to the books, for sales outside marketplaces. ## Related guides - [Invoice requests: buyers asking for an invoice](https://bookalyze.com/guides/invoice-requests.md): Amazon sends buyers' invoice requests to your email, not to any API. It's Amazon's own Request a Review, so it's within Amazon's rules. Category: Reviews and listings · Web page: https://bookalyze.com/guides/automatic-review-requests ## Why it matters Most happy buyers never leave a review unless they're asked. Amazon's **Request a Review** asks them in their own language, but only one order at a time in Seller Central, and only between 5 and 30 days after delivery. Few sellers keep that up by hand. Bookalyze does it every hour, for every marketplace, on its own. - **Amazon's own request only.** One standard Amazon message per order; no custom emails, nothing against Amazon's rules. - **Never twice.** An order already asked, here or in Seller Central, is never asked again. - **Never the unhappy ones.** Refunded orders, A-to-z claims and chargebacks are checked with Amazon just before sending, and skipped. ## Before you switch it on Your Amazon app needs two roles: **Buyer Solicitation** (to send requests) and **Finance and Accounting** (to check refunds). If you added a role after connecting, authorise the app again and replace the refresh token on the channel's page. > **Tip:** The Connect Amazon guide shows how to add roles and get a new refresh token. ## Set it up **Where in Bookalyze:** Review requests → Automatic requests 1. **Turn on "Ask every buyer automatically".** Off, requests only go out when you ask from the list. On, new orders are planned as they ship. 2. **Choose the days after delivery.** From 5 to 25, counted from Amazon's latest delivery date. Most sellers ask after **7 to 10 days**, once the buyer has used the product. 3. **Choose the time of day and the days of the week.** In your company's time zone. On other days, requests wait for the next chosen day, never past Amazon's window. 4. **Choose marketplaces and who shipped.** Every Amazon marketplace, or some; orders Amazon shipped (FBA), orders you shipped, or both. 5. **Choose what to skip.** Refunded orders (also A-to-z claims and chargebacks), replacement orders, Amazon Business orders, orders with a coupon or promotion, and any SKUs you list. 6. **Choose where to start.** **Only new deliveries**, or **also recent orders**: every order still inside Amazon's 30-day window is asked too. Saving plans the requests straight away. Nothing is sent from the settings screen itself. ## How it runs - Every hour, Bookalyze sends the requests that are due, about one a second, as Amazon allows. - Each order's window is Amazon's: from 5 days after the earliest delivery date to 30 days after the latest. For FBA orders, where Amazon doesn't give delivery dates, Bookalyze estimates them from the purchase date and lets Amazon's own answer decide. - If Amazon says an order isn't ready yet, it's tried again a day later, up to five times. - Orders left out by these settings can still be asked by hand. ## What you should see What you should see: - [ ] Review requests shows cards for **ready to ask now**, **scheduled** and **requested lately** - [ ] The **Scheduled** tab lists upcoming orders with the day each will be asked - [ ] After the next hourly run, sent orders move to **Requested** - [ ] A refunded order shows under **Left out** with the reason - [ ] Each order's page has a Review request box with its status ## Related guides - [Ask for reviews by hand or in bulk](https://bookalyze.com/guides/review-requests.md): See every Amazon order you can ask for a review, ask one, a selection, or every ready order at once, and leave out the ones you'd rather not ask. - [Connect Amazon: get your Selling Partner API keys](https://bookalyze.com/guides/connect-amazon.md): Create a private Selling Partner API app for your own seller account, give it the roles Bookalyze needs, and paste its client ID, client secret and refresh token. Accounts, marketplaces and entries in other currencies are converted at each day's rate, and a transfer between currencies records what the bank really gave you. Category: Accounting · Web page: https://bookalyze.com/guides/currencies ## Your main currency Chosen when the company is created, and fixed once it has entries. Every report is in it. ## Exchange rates Rates come from the Bank of Canada every weekday and are filled in for you. The UAE dirham is fixed to the US dollar, so its rate is exact. The rate follows the date until you type your own. > **Caution:** Not yet: rates for currencies the Bank of Canada doesn't publish, such as the Saudi riyal and the Egyptian pound. Type the rate your bank used. ## Transfers between currencies Moving money from a USD account to a CAD one asks for the **amount sent** and the **amount received**, and shows the bank's rate. The side in your main currency sets the value, so your books carry the real rate, not an estimate. ## Payouts in another currency A settlement in AED that lands in a CAD bank account is matched like any other. The small difference between the rate on the settlement date and the rate the bank gave is posted as an exchange gain or loss. ## Related guides - [An Amazon.ae payout in dirhams, deposited in Canadian dollars](https://bookalyze.com/guides/amazon-ae-payout-into-cad.md): A Canadian company selling on Amazon.ae: the settlement posts in AED, the payout lands in a CAD bank account at the bank's rate, and the small difference is an exchange loss or gain. - [Match each payout to its bank deposit](https://bookalyze.com/guides/match-payouts.md): Matching pairs a marketplace payout with the deposit in your bank and moves that deposit to the clearing or balance account, so your sales are counted once. Edit the product to change the units on a link. ## A product - Name, your own SKU (optional) and notes. - Its marketplace SKUs: link, unlink, or change units. - Optional **weight of one**, for splitting freight by weight. - Reorder settings: lead time, minimum order, units in a carton. - Archive one you've stopped selling. Type the **cost of one** or the **line total**, and the other is worked out; or type the order **total** and it's spread over the lines. - Orders are numbered PO-0001, PO-0002 and so on. > **Tip:** **Fill in from an Alibaba receipt**: drop in the receipt PDF from the order's page on Alibaba.com. It's read in your browser and never uploaded; it fills the supplier, currency, date, lines and costs, and lists what to check. Nothing is saved until **Save draft**. ## The life of an order | Status | What you can do | | --- | --- | | Draft | Edit, delete, **Mark as sent** | | Ordered | **Record a delivery**, **Cancel order**, record payments | | Partly received | Record the rest | | Received | Settle the difference (when purchases are in the books) | | Cancelled | Nothing; the number stays accounted for | ## Deliveries **Record a delivery** fills in everything still to come; lower a number for a partial delivery. A payment to someone else **for a delivery** also goes on that delivery's landed cost, at the rate you actually paid. ## Purchases in the books **Where in Bookalyze:** Inventory → Purchase orders → Put purchases in the books (admins) 1. **Payments go to Supplier deposits.** Paid, but not in stock yet: an asset, not an expense. 2. **Each delivery moves its landed cost into Inventory.** On the day it arrived. A cost or rate changed later posts the correction. 3. **Settle the difference.** Once everything has arrived, what's left (usually exchange rates that moved between paying and receiving) goes to exchange gains or losses. **Undo** reverses it. > **Tip:** Choose the date to start from. Orders before it stay as they were. ## What you should see What you should see: - [ ] The order shows paid, still to pay, and a progress bar - [ ] "Supplier deposits for this order" shows paid in, into stock, and what's left - [ ] After settling, nothing is left on deposits for the order ## Related guides - [Purchase orders and deliveries](https://bookalyze.com/guides/purchase-orders.md): Draft an order to your supplier, send it, and record each delivery as it arrives. Freight is split by weight when products have one. - A live preview shows each product's order price, extra cost and cost of one. - **Pay or link** records the payment for a cost not paid yet. ## Stock lots **Where in Bookalyze:** Inventory → Stock lots Each delivery line is a lot: that product's units from that delivery, at landed cost in your main currency. The list shows units left ("38 of 50 left"), the cost of one, and the average per product. Cost of goods sold takes units from the **oldest lot first** (FIFO). A lot's cost is shared to the cent, so nothing is lost or made up. > **Caution:** A delivery whose units are already in a posted month's cost of goods sold can't have its costs changed until that month is undone. ## What you should see What you should see: - [ ] The lots' cost adds up to what you paid for the goods and the extras - [ ] Inventory → Prices shows the landed cost beside each listing - [ ] Channel profit uses these costs once the month is posted ## Related guides - [Cost of goods sold, month by month](https://bookalyze.com/guides/cost-of-goods-sold.md): Add your opening stock once, then post each month's cost of goods sold per marketplace at FIFO cost. The products losing money come first, each with how far its ads can go before they stop paying. Category: Advertising and profit · Web page: https://bookalyze.com/guides/profit-after-ads ## Why it matters On Amazon, a product can sell every day and still lose money. Its price has to cover the referral fee, the fulfilment fee, refunds, the landed cost of the unit **and** the ads that sold it. Amazon's ads console shows ACOS per campaign, but it doesn't know what your product cost or what Amazon's fees left you, so it can't tell you whether the ads made or lost money. Bookalyze knows both. **Where in Bookalyze:** Commerce → Channel profit → By product ## What you need first What you should see: - [ ] The marketplace connected, with its orders coming in (each product's units and sales come from its orders) - [ ] Its settlements (Amazon, Walmart) or transactions (Noon, eBay) brought in for the period: they tell Bookalyze what the marketplace leaves you from each sale - [ ] Its SKUs linked to products (Inventory → Products), and each product with a cost: a delivery with its landed cost, or opening stock - [ ] For ad spend per product: Amazon Ads connected on the marketplace's channel page (see Connect Amazon Ads) > **Tip:** Without Amazon Ads, the page still works: it shows each product's profit before ads, and the advertising in your books as one line for the marketplace, not split by product. ## The summary at the top | Card | What it tells you | | --- | --- | | Profit after ads | Every marketplace together, in your main currency, for the products with a cost | | Ad spend and TACOS | What ads cost, and that as a share of all sales. Under about 10% is light; over 20% means sales lean hard on ads | | Products losing money | How many lost money after their ads in the period, and how much they lost together | | Ads with no sales | Spend on products whose ads sold nothing in the period, and how many products have no cost yet | ## Each product's row | Column | How it's worked out | | --- | --- | | Units, Sales | Order lines bought in the period, cancelled orders left out; sales less promotions | | Profit before ads | Sales × what the marketplace left you per sale (its keep rate, below), less units × the product's cost. Underneath: per unit | | Ad spend | Each day's spend on the product from the ads reports | | ACOS / break-even | ACOS is ad spend over the sales the ads brought. Break-even ACOS is profit before ads over sales: the most ACOS can be before each sale from ads loses money. Red when ACOS is above it | | TACOS | Ad spend over all the product's sales, from ads or not | | Profit after ads | Profit before ads less ad spend; underneath, per unit and as a margin of sales | Click a row for the rest: what the marketplace left you, the product cost, sales and orders from ads, return on ad spend (ROAS), the share of sales that came without ads, clicks, impressions, cost per click, **break-even cost per click** and how many clicks buy. ## The verdicts, worst first | Verdict | What it means | Where to look | | --- | --- | --- | | Losing money | It loses money before ads: the price doesn't cover the fees and the cost | The price, the fulfilment fee (size tier), the landed cost. Ads only make it worse | | Ads eat the profit | Profitable on its own, but its ads cost more than that profit | Bids above the break-even cost per click; campaigns with high ACOS | | Ads with no sales | Ad spend and no sales from the ads in the period | Pause or rethink those campaigns; check the listing is buyable | | Ads cost more than they earn | Still profitable overall, but ACOS is above break-even: each sale from ads loses money and organic sales pay for it | Fine for a launch or to defend rank, on purpose and for a while | | Cost missing | Not linked to a product, or the product has no cost yet | Inventory → Products: link the SKU; add a delivery or opening stock | | Healthy | Profitable after ads, ACOS under break-even | Room to grow | ## Sponsored Brands, and ads not tied to one product Sponsored Brands campaigns promote a brand or several products, and Amazon reports their cost per campaign, not per product. Bookalyze keeps them as their own line under each marketplace's products: counted in the marketplace's total and its TACOS, not split into any product, so no product looks worse for a campaign that wasn't about it. > **Tip:** On Profit and loss by product you can choose to share Sponsored Brands out by each product's sales from ads instead (marked as estimated). See Profit and loss by product, line by line. ## The keep rate: what each sale leaves after the marketplace Bookalyze takes the marketplace's money on orders in the period (referral and fulfilment fees, refunds and the rest, with the advertising taken out) over the same orders' sales: that's the **keep rate**, shown under the marketplace's name. On Amazon, a product with 5 or more settled units uses the rate its own orders show, because a fulfilment fee costs a cheap product a bigger share of its price. One with fewer uses Amazon's fee estimate for its listing (kept each time you refresh prices on Inventory → Prices) and its own refunds. Each product's share is its sales × its keep rate. Storage, the selling plan, inbound placement, Vine and coupon fees aren't on any order and don't grow with each unit sold, so they're not in the keep rate: they're their own line under the marketplace's products, in full. Shared by sales, a launch month's storage and Vine fees would make every product look like it loses money. Units given away (Vine, or any order whose promotion is the whole price) aren't in a product's units or keep rate either: their cost and the marketplace's fees on them are a line of their own, so a launch's free units don't make the units that sell look worse. > **Note:** Orders the marketplace hasn't settled yet are estimated at the same rates. The marketplace's line says how much of the period's sales came after its last settlement. > **Note:** A marketplace with no settlements in the period (a new one) uses the last 90 days. With none in 90 days either, profit shows as — until some come in. > **Caution:** A product with a much bigger fulfilment fee than average (a large, light item) leaves less than the keep rate says. Check it on Inventory → Prices, where Amazon's own fee estimate for the listing is. ## Download it **Download CSV** gives every column for every product, including the details behind the click, plus each marketplace's Sponsored Brands line, for the same period and marketplace. ## What you should see What you should see: - [ ] Every product that sold or ran ads in the period, worst first - [ ] A profit before and after ads for every product with a cost - [ ] ACOS next to break-even ACOS on every advertised product - [ ] Sponsored Brands as its own line - [ ] Advertising in your books next to the ads reports' total, at the bottom of each marketplace ## Related guides - [Profit and loss by product, line by line](https://bookalyze.com/guides/sku-profit-and-loss.md): For any period, every product's exact profit and loss: units sold and returned, sales, promotions, refunds, each marketplace fee, storage, cost of goods and ads, from the marketplaces' own rows. Category: Advertising and profit · Web page: https://bookalyze.com/guides/sku-profit-and-loss ## What it's for Profit by product answers "which products lose money after ads?" quickly, sharing each marketplace's fees by sales. This page goes further: it reads the fees the marketplace charged **on each order of each product**, so you see exactly what a product made or lost, line by line, for any dates you choose. **Where in Bookalyze:** Commerce → Channel profit → By product → Profit and loss, line by line ## Where each line comes from | Line | Where it comes from | Actual or estimated | | --- | --- | --- | | Units sold and returned | The product's order lines bought in the period; returns from the orders' refunds | Actual | | Gross sales, promotions and coupons | The marketplace's rows for the order, else the order itself | Actual | | Refunds | The marketplace's refund rows on the order; before they're in, the order's refunds | Actual once settled | | Referral, fulfilment and other fees | Amazon's settlements by product and order, Noon's transactions, Walmart's settlement reports, eBay's finances (shared over an order's products by item price) | Actual once settled; estimated before | | Storage and account fees | Storage, the selling plan and other fees on no product, shared by units sold | Estimated (shared out) | | Cost of goods | The cost posted for the month on Cost of goods sold; for months not posted, the next unit's landed cost | Actual once the month is posted | | Ad spend | Each day's spend on the product in the ads reports | Estimated for the last 14 days (the marketplace can still give them sales) | A product's period is its order lines bought in it, and **every amount on those orders counts there**, even a refund or a fee settled weeks later. So a period's units and what they cost always go together, and a period's figures can still move a little until its orders are settled. ## Estimates, and "x% actual" An order the marketplace hasn't settled yet has no fees of its own. Bookalyze estimates them at the rates the product's settled orders show (else the marketplace's), and marks them **≈**. When nothing on a marketplace is settled by product yet, the whole marketplace share is estimated by its keep rate (see Profit by product, after ads). Each product, and the period, shows how much of its amounts is actual. > **Tip:** Amazon settlements brought in before this page existed don't have their amounts by product yet. On Commerce → Settlements, Bring in settlements fills those Amazon still lists (about 90 days); for older ones, upload their flat files again. Nothing in your books changes. ## One product: the waterfall Open a product for its waterfall, from gross sales down to profit, with every marketplace together in your main currency (each amount at its own day's exchange rate). Below it, **By channel** shows each marketplace in its own currency, the amounts as the marketplace has them. ## Ads and Sponsored Brands Ad spend comes from the ads reports. Without Amazon Ads connected, ad cost says "not connected yet": the page still works, and the advertising in the marketplace's settlements is its own line, not split by product. Sponsored Brands has no spend per product, so it's its own line by default; choose **Shared by ad sales** to share it by each product's sales from ads (marked estimated). ## Download it **Download CSV** gives every line for every product: every marketplace together in your main currency, then each marketplace in its own, with the profit, margin, per unit, TACOS, the share that's actual and how much is estimated. On a product's page, the CSV is that product only. ## What you should see What you should see: - [ ] Every product that sold in the period, worst profit first - [ ] Sales, fees and refunds, cost of goods and ads adding up to each product's profit - [ ] ≈ beside amounts that are estimated, and the share that's actual - [ ] A product's waterfall, and its lines on each marketplace in that marketplace's currency ## Related guides - [Profit by product, after ads: what every product really makes](https://bookalyze.com/guides/profit-after-ads.md): Each product's profit after the marketplace's fees, what it cost you and its ads, per marketplace. What isn't ready comes in by itself within minutes. ## One sign-in per region Amazon Ads splits the world into three regions. One sign-in covers every marketplace in its region, so connecting Amazon.ca also covers Amazon.com and Mexico if the same login advertises there; Amazon.ae (with the UK, Europe, Saudi Arabia and India) is the Europe region and needs its own sign-in from the Amazon.ae channel. | Region | Marketplaces | | --- | --- | | North America | Amazon.ca, Amazon.com, Mexico, Brazil | | Europe | Amazon.ae, Saudi Arabia, the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Sweden, Poland, Turkey, Egypt, India | | Far East | Japan, Australia, Singapore | ## What Bookalyze reads, and how often - Your ads profiles (one per marketplace), to match each to its channel - Sponsored Products, per advertised SKU per day: spend, impressions, clicks, and the sales, orders and units Amazon attributes to the ads within 7 days of a click - Sponsored Brands, per campaign per day: the same, within 14 days - Every day, the last 15 days again, because Amazon still moves sales between days for 14 days after a click; the first time, the last 60 days It never changes a campaign, a bid or a budget, and it doesn't read keywords, search terms or placements: those stay in your ads tools. ## If something's wrong | You see | Do this | | --- | --- | | "This login has no ads account for Amazon.ca" | You signed in with a login that doesn't advertise there. Connect again with the login you use for that marketplace's Campaign Manager | | "Amazon refused: this ads account hasn't allowed Bookalyze…" | The login lost access to the ads account. Connect again | | "Amazon is making the reports" | Nothing to do: they come in by themselves within minutes | | Connect Amazon Ads is greyed out | Only owners and admins can connect; or this server doesn't have Bookalyze's Amazon Ads app keys yet | ## Disconnect **Disconnect** on the marketplace's page deletes the sign-in. Category: Advertising and profit · Web page: https://bookalyze.com/guides/acos-tacos-break-even ## The numbers | Number | Formula | Read it as | | --- | --- | --- | | ACOS | Ad spend ÷ sales from ads | What each sale from ads cost in ads | | TACOS | Ad spend ÷ all sales | How much the product leans on ads overall | | ROAS | Sales from ads ÷ ad spend | ACOS turned over: sales per unit of ad spend | | Break-even ACOS | Profit before ads ÷ sales | The highest ACOS before each sale from ads loses money. It's the margin before ads | | Break-even cost per click | Profit before ads per unit × the share of clicks that buy | The most a click can cost and still pay for itself | ## One product's month A cutting board sells for **$50.00**. The marketplace leaves you 70% of each sale after its fees and refunds (**$35.00**), and each board's landed cost is **$15.00**. So each board makes **$20.00** before ads, a 40% margin: its **break-even ACOS is 40%**. | This month | Amount | | --- | --- | | Units, sales | 100 boards, $5,000.00 | | Profit before ads | 100 × $20.00 = $2,000.00 | | Ad spend | $1,200.00 on 1,000 clicks: $1.20 a click | | Sales from ads | 48 boards, $2,400.00 | | ACOS | $1,200 ÷ $2,400 = 50%, above the 40% break-even | | TACOS | $1,200 ÷ $5,000 = 24% | | Profit after ads | $2,000 − $1,200 = $800.00, $8.00 a board, 16% | The board is still profitable, but its verdict is **Ads cost more than they earn**: the 48 boards from ads made 48 × $20 = $960 before ads and cost $1,200 in ads, so the ads lost $240. The 52 boards sold without ads made $1,040 and paid for that. 4.8% of clicks bought (48 of 1,000), so the **break-even cost per click** is $20.00 × 4.8% = **$0.96**. Paying $1.20 a click loses $0.24 on every click. Bring bids down towards $0.96, or raise the price, or lower the cost, and the ads start paying for themselves. ## Why ACOS alone misleads - A 30% ACOS is great for a product with a 50% margin and a loss for one with a 20% margin: compare it with that product's break-even, not with a rule of thumb - ACOS ignores sales without ads; TACOS shows whether ads grow the product or just buy sales it would have had - A rising TACOS with flat sales means you're paying for sales you used to get for free > **Caution:** Amazon counts a sale as from an ad for 7 days after the click (14 for Sponsored Brands). Ads in the last days of a period can claim sales in the next, so look at whole months, not days. ## Related guides - [Profit by product, after ads: what every product really makes](https://bookalyze.com/guides/profit-after-ads.md): Each product's profit after the marketplace's fees, what it cost you and its ads, per marketplace. The ads reports' total shows below Profit as **Ad spend in the ads reports**, with **TACOS**, for comparison only, never added in - **Profit by product** takes the advertising in your books *out* of what the marketplace leaves you, then takes each product's own spend from the reports off its profit. So ads are counted once, from the reports - At the bottom of each marketplace on Profit by product: the advertising in your books, the ads reports' total, and the difference ## Why the difference - **Timing**: Amazon charges ads when your balance reaches a threshold or at month end, so a charge can land in the next period - **Paid by card**: when Amazon charges ads to a card, they aren't in the settlements at all. They're in your books as a card payment, in an expense category - **Noon** takes ads inside a statement fee, once a statement is in - **Credits** and promotional ad credits reduce what's charged, not what's spent ## When Amazon charges your card 1. **Categorise the card payments.** Put Amazon's advertising charges on your card in an expense category such as "Advertising" (a rule can do it every time). 2. **Count it against the marketplace.** Commerce → Channel profit → Your own costs: set that category against the marketplace (Amazon.ca). Channel profit then takes it off that marketplace's profit. 3. **Check.** Over a few months, the advertising in your books and the ads reports' total should be close. ## Related guides - [Profit by product, after ads: what every product really makes](https://bookalyze.com/guides/profit-after-ads.md): Each product's profit after the marketplace's fees, what it cost you and its ads, per marketplace. Look at last month **Where in Bookalyze:** Commerce → Channel profit → By product, period: last month Read the cards: profit after ads, TACOS, how many products lost money and how much. Then each marketplace's table, worst first. ## 2. Act on each verdict | Verdict | First move | Then | | --- | --- | --- | | Losing money | Check its price and fees on Inventory → Prices (Amazon's fee estimate); raise the price or lower the landed cost | Stop its ads until it makes money before ads; if it can't, sell through and stop reordering | | Ads eat the profit | Bring bids down to its break-even cost per click (open the row) | Move budget to its campaigns with the lowest ACOS | | Ads with no sales | Pause the campaigns spending on it | Check the listing is buyable and in stock | | Ads cost more than they earn | Decide if it's on purpose (a launch, defending rank) and for how long | If not, lower bids towards break-even | ## 3. Which marketplace **Where in Bookalyze:** Commerce → Channel profit Pick the last three or six months. Read each column down to **Profit** and the margin. A channel with healthy sales and a thin or negative profit is the place to look. - **Fees** high against net sales? Check the fulfilment fees on your biggest SKUs. - **Advertising** eating the margin? Compare it with the extra sales. - **Refunds** high? Look at which orders on Commerce → Orders → Refunded. - **Your own costs**: count prep, storage and software against the channels they serve, so the comparison is fair. ## 2. Which product **Where in Bookalyze:** Commerce → Channel profit → By product Every product's profit after fees, cost and ads, the ones losing money first, each with its ACOS next to its break-even ACOS. The full routine is in **Find and fix the products losing money**. **Where in Bookalyze:** Inventory → Prices Each Amazon listing's price beside its landed cost. Open **Change price** on a suspect to see Amazon's fee estimate and the profit and margin at today's price, without changing anything. > **Tip:** A 2-pack or a bundle is costed with every unit in it, so the margin is the real one. ## 3. Decide - Raise the price, and watch the listing with **Listing watch** to see how competitors move. - Cut the ad spend on that product or channel. - Reorder less of it: **Reorder** shows how many it really sells. - Or stop selling it there, and switch the channel off if nothing else sells. ## What you should see What you should see: - [ ] Every channel's profit, after cost of goods and your own costs - [ ] A margin for each listing you checked - [ ] Next month's Channel profit showing the change ## Related guides - [Profit by product, after ads: what every product really makes](https://bookalyze.com/guides/profit-after-ads.md): Each product's profit after the marketplace's fees, what it cost you and its ads, per marketplace. Web page: https://bookalyze.com/features/review-requests Most happy buyers never leave a review unless they're asked. Amazon's own Request a Review asks them in their own language, but Seller Central only lets you do it one order at a time, between 5 and 30 days after delivery. Bookalyze asks every eligible buyer for you, by hand, hundreds at once or automatically every day, and never the ones who asked for a refund. ## Within Amazon's rules Bookalyze sends Amazon's own standard request, one per order. No custom emails, nothing Amazon could object to. - Amazon's Request a Review, in the buyer's language - Never twice: an order already asked, here or in Seller Central, isn't asked again - Refunds, A-to-z claims and chargebacks checked with Amazon just before sending, and skipped - Inside Amazon's window only: from 5 days after delivery to 30 days after ## Automatic, on your schedule Switch it on once. Every hour, the requests that are due go out, for every Amazon marketplace you sell on. - Choose how many days after delivery to ask, from 5 to 25 - Choose the time of day and the days of the week, in your time zone - Choose marketplaces, and orders Amazon shipped (FBA), you shipped, or both - Leave out refunds, replacements, Amazon Business orders, promotions and any SKUs you list - Start with new deliveries only, or every recent order still inside Amazon's window ## By hand or in bulk One list of every order you can ask, with what's scheduled, what's been asked and what's left out, and why. - Ask one order, a selection, or every ready order at once - Leave an order out, with Undo, and put it back later - Check with Amazon whether an order is eligible - Each order shows its review request and when it went ## How it works 1. **Connect Amazon.** Your Selling Partner app with the Buyer Solicitation role (and Finance and Accounting, to check refunds). The Connect Amazon guide walks you through it. 2. **Choose when to ask.** In Review requests → Automatic requests: the days after delivery, the time and days, marketplaces, and what to leave out. 3. **Let it run.** Requests go out every hour as they fall due. See what's scheduled and what was asked on the Requests page. ## Questions ### Is it allowed by Amazon? Yes. It's Amazon's own Request a Review, the same button as in Seller Central, sent through Amazon's API. Bookalyze doesn't write to buyers itself. ### Can I use it without the accounting? Yes. Review requests only is its own plan: connect your Amazon store, its orders come in, and you ask for reviews. The books and settlements aren't included until you want them. ### Will a buyer who got a refund be asked? No, if you leave refunds out (the default). Bookalyze checks each order with Amazon just before sending and skips refunds, A-to-z claims and chargebacks. ### What about orders Amazon shipped (FBA)? They're asked too. Amazon doesn't give delivery dates for them, so Bookalyze estimates the window from the purchase date and lets Amazon's own answer decide. ## Guides - [Automatic review requests: ask every buyer, at the right time](https://bookalyze.com/guides/automatic-review-requests.md) - [Ask for reviews by hand or in bulk](https://bookalyze.com/guides/review-requests.md) - [Connect Amazon: get your Selling Partner API keys](https://bookalyze.com/guides/connect-amazon.md) --- # Amazon invoices > Tax invoices from the order in seconds, in English and Arabic, sent through Amazon. Bookalyze asks Amazon for the buyer's name, company and tax number, and never keeps their email. - A tax invoice with your TRN or GST number when you're registered, a plain invoice when you're not - English and Arabic on the same page, with Arabic names and addresses that read correctly - Notes that Amazon already collected the payment, and any refund on the order - Sent to the buyer through Amazon's messaging, or downloaded for Seller Central or email - Correct the details later; the invoice keeps its number ## Buyers' requests, never missed Amazon emails you when a buyer asks for an invoice. Forward those emails to your company's own address and each request appears on its order, waiting for you. - Home says how many buyers are waiting for an invoice - Each request shows on its order, beside Create invoice - Sending the invoice to Amazon closes the request ## Your brand and numbering Your logo, accent colour, Arabic name, footer and letterhead on every invoice, with a live preview. - Invoice numbers in your format, with the year or month in them if you like - One running number per company, so a number is never used twice - Invoices already issued keep the brand they were drawn with ## How it works 1. **Add your company's details.** Its registered address, your sales-tax registration if you have one, and your logo and letterhead if you'd like them. 2. **Create the invoice.** On an Amazon order: Create invoice. Check the buyer's details and save; the first is INV-0001 unless you choose a format. 3. **Send to Amazon.** The PDF goes to the buyer through Amazon's messaging, and the order shows when it was sent and by whom. ## Questions ### Does the invoice post to my books? No. The settlement already records the sale, so the invoice is a document for the buyer, not a second sale. ### Which Amazon roles does it need? Buyer Communication to send through Amazon, and Tax Invoicing to fill in the buyer's details for you. Without Tax Invoicing you type them yourself. ### What about Walmart, Noon or eBay orders? Create and download the invoice the same way, and send it through the marketplace yourself; sending from Bookalyze is Amazon only for now. ## Guides - [Create a buyer's invoice and send it through Amazon](https://bookalyze.com/guides/buyer-invoices.md) - [Invoice requests: buyers asking for an invoice](https://bookalyze.com/guides/invoice-requests.md) - [Your brand and invoice numbers](https://bookalyze.com/guides/brand-and-invoice-numbers.md) --- # Settlements and payouts > Every marketplace payout posted line by line and matched to your bank. Web page: https://bookalyze.com/features/settlements-and-payouts A marketplace payout is never just sales: it's sales less fees, refunds, promotions, advertising, tax and amounts held back. Bookalyze reads every Amazon settlement, Walmart report, Noon and eBay month line by line, posts each as one clean entry split the way your accountant wants, and finds the deposit in your bank, in any currency. ## Posted, not typed Choose an account for each kind of money once. Then post by hand, or let new settlements post themselves every day. - Sales, refunds, fees, advertising, tax, reimbursements and amounts held back, each to its account - One entry per settlement or month, in the marketplace's own currency - Amazon's older settlements uploaded, or years rebuilt from one date range report - Walmart posted only when its rows add up to Walmart's payout ## Matched to the bank Each payout is paired with its deposit, so your sales are counted once and the clearing account comes back to zero. - Matches in any bank account, even in another currency - The exchange difference posted for you - Exact matches made automatically every day - Checks that your books agree with each marketplace's balance ## How it works 1. **Connect a marketplace.** Amazon, Walmart, Noon or eBay. Settlements start coming in on their own. 2. **Choose the accounts.** Where sales, fees, refunds, ads, tax and held-back amounts go, and the day posting starts. 3. **Post and match.** By hand, or automatically every day. Each payout finds its bank deposit. ## Questions ### Which marketplaces? Amazon (North America, Europe, the Middle East and the Far East), Walmart (US, Canada, Mexico), Noon (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt) and eBay. ### Do orders post to my books too? No: orders are for running the business. What you were paid comes from the settlements, so nothing is counted twice. ## Guides - [How payouts post to your books](https://bookalyze.com/guides/how-payouts-post.md) - [Amazon settlements: bring in, upload, post](https://bookalyze.com/guides/amazon-settlements.md) - [Match each payout to its bank deposit](https://bookalyze.com/guides/match-payouts.md) - [How Bookalyze works: the path your money takes](https://bookalyze.com/guides/how-bookalyze-works.md) --- # Banking and reconciliation > Every bank account in one place, agreeing with its statement. Web page: https://bookalyze.com/features/bank-reconciliation Wise syncs on its own, in every currency you hold; any other bank comes in from its statement file. Rules sort the routine, duplicates are flagged before they reach your books, transfers between your own accounts are matched, and each account is reconciled against its statement. ## Bank lines in, sorted Every line that moves money in or out, in one list, ready to categorise and tick reviewed. - Wise synced daily with a read-only token, fees split out - Statement uploads from any bank: match the columns once, reused every time - The same file twice adds nothing twice - Rules that categorise the routine, and suggest new rules - Possible duplicates flagged, never merged on their own - Transfers between your own accounts suggested ## Reconciled and locked Enter the statement's date and ending balance, tick what's on it, and finish when the difference is zero. - Reconciled transactions locked until you undo - Close a period so nothing changes behind you ## How it works 1. **Add your accounts.** Connect Wise, or add any bank and upload its statement. 2. **Sort the lines.** Categorise on the list, or let rules do it as lines arrive. 3. **Reconcile.** Against each statement, until the difference is zero. ## Questions ### Which banks connect live? Web page: https://bookalyze.com/features/stock-and-cost-of-goods Bookalyze follows your stock from the supplier's purchase order to the marketplace's warehouse: each delivery's landed cost with its share of freight, duty and prep, FIFO stock lots, and each month's cost of goods sold per marketplace, with Amazon's and Noon's returns and losses counted. ## From the supplier Purchase orders to your suppliers, delivered in parts and paid in instalments. - Fill in a purchase order from an Alibaba.com receipt - Freight, duties, brokerage and prep added to each delivery's cost - Each delivery becomes stock lots, and sales use the oldest first ## To the books Each month's cost of goods sold posted per marketplace at FIFO cost. - Every marketplace SKU linked to a product, with 2-packs and bundles counted right - Amazon's FBA and Noon's FBN ledgers: returns back into stock, losses written off - What Amazon, Noon and Walmart hold, beside your own stock and your own count ## How it works 1. **Add your products.** Link each marketplace SKU to the product it holds. 2. **Record what you buy.** Purchase orders and deliveries, with their landed cost. 3. **Post each month.** Cost of goods sold per marketplace, at FIFO cost. ## Questions ### Do I have to count my stock? Only once, for your opening stock. After that, deliveries, sales and the marketplaces' own ledgers keep it up to date, and you can compare it with a count any time. ## Guides - [Products and SKUs: link every listing to what it holds](https://bookalyze.com/guides/products-and-skus.md) - [Landed cost and FIFO stock lots](https://bookalyze.com/guides/landed-cost-and-lots.md) - [Cost of goods sold, month by month](https://bookalyze.com/guides/cost-of-goods-sold.md) - [From an Alibaba order to FBA sales and cost of goods sold](https://bookalyze.com/guides/alibaba-to-fba.md) --- # Reorder planning > When each product runs out, and how many to order. One click turns a reorder line into a purchase order. ## Before you run out Order now and Order soon, worked out from how fast each product is really selling. - Days of stock left at the pace it's selling - The last day to order, with each product's lead time - How many to order, rounded to minimums and cartons - One click from a reorder line to a purchase order ## How it works 1. **Add lead times.** How long each supplier takes, and their minimum and carton size. 2. **Check Reorder.** Order now and Order soon, product by product. 3. **Order.** Turn the line into a purchase order to the supplier. ## Questions ### Does it count stock at Amazon? Web page: https://bookalyze.com/features/channel-profit A marketplace can look busy and still lose money once fees, ads, refunds and the real cost of each unit are counted. Channel profit shows a column per marketplace, in its own currency, from sales down to profit, and every listing's price beside its cost, fees and margin. ## Per marketplace From sales down to profit after fees, ads, cost of goods and your own costs. - A column per marketplace, in its own currency - All channels together in your main currency - Your own costs per channel, such as software or agency fees - Ad spend from Amazon Ads and TACOS beside each marketplace ## Per product, after ads By product: each product's profit after fees, cost and its own ads, the ones losing money first. - Break-even ACOS and break-even cost per click for every advertised product - See Profit after ads ## Per listing Each linked SKU's Amazon price next to what a unit costs you. - See Amazon's fees, your profit and margin before you change a price - Then see whether Amazon applied it ## How it works 1. **Connect and post.** Marketplaces connected and settlements posted. 2. **Add cost of goods.** Stock and cost of goods sold, for profit after the product's cost. 3. **Read the columns.** Channel profit, for any period. ## Questions ### Does it need stock to work? No, but without cost of goods it shows profit before the product's cost. Stock adds the real cost of each unit sold. ## Guides - [Channel profit: what each marketplace really makes](https://bookalyze.com/guides/channel-profit.md) - [Profit by product, after ads: what every product really makes](https://bookalyze.com/guides/profit-after-ads.md) - [Amazon prices beside cost and fees](https://bookalyze.com/guides/amazon-prices.md) - [Are you losing money? Find the channel or product that is](https://bookalyze.com/guides/are-you-losing-money.md) --- # Profit after ads > Every product's real profit after fees, cost and ads. Find the ones losing money. Web page: https://bookalyze.com/features/profit-after-ads Plenty of Amazon sellers grow sales and lose money doing it. A product's price has to cover the marketplace's fees, refunds, the landed cost of the unit and the ads that sold it, and no one screen shows all four. Bookalyze brings your Amazon Ads spend in every day, per product, and sets it against what each product really earned, so you see which products make money, which lose it, and exactly how far each one's ads can go before they stop paying. ## The real profit of every product Per marketplace, from sales down to profit after ads, in the marketplace's own currency, for any period. - Sales and units from your orders, cancelled orders left out - What the marketplace left you after its fees, refunds and promotions, from its settlements - The landed cost of each unit, bundles and multipacks included - Each product's own ad spend, day by day, from Amazon Ads - Profit before and after ads, per product and per unit, with the margin ## The products losing money, first Each product gets a plain verdict, and the worst come to the top. - Losing money: the price doesn't cover the fees and the cost, ads or not - Ads eat the profit: profitable on its own, not after its ads - Ads with no sales: spend that sold nothing - Ads cost more than they earn: ACOS above the product's break-even - How many products lost money in the period, and how much ## How far each product's ads can go The numbers your ads console can't give you, because it doesn't know your costs. - Break-even ACOS: the most ACOS can be before each ad sale loses money - Break-even cost per click: the highest bid that still pays - ACOS, TACOS and ROAS next to it, per product and per marketplace - The share of sales that came without ads ## Ads counted once, and your books kept right Amazon charges ads from payouts or a card; the ads reports say what each day cost. Bookalyze uses each where it belongs. - Channel profit keeps counting the advertising in your books - Profit by product uses each day's spend from the ads reports instead, never both - The two side by side, with the difference and why - Sponsored Brands kept as its own line, not spread over products it wasn't about - Every column as a CSV, for your accountant or your own sheet ## How it works 1. **Connect Amazon Ads.** On your Amazon marketplace's page, agree on Amazon's own page. Read-only; one sign-in per region. 2. **Link products and costs.** Your SKUs linked to products, and each product's landed cost from a delivery or opening stock. 3. **Read By product.** Commerce → Channel profit → By product: the losing products first, every month. ## Questions ### How is this different from ACOS in Seller Central? ACOS says what ads cost against the sales they brought. It doesn't know your landed cost or what Amazon's fees left you, so it can't say whether those sales made money. Bookalyze compares each product's ACOS with its own break-even ACOS, and shows its profit after ads. ### Can Bookalyze change my campaigns or bids? No. It only reads the ads reports: spend, clicks, and the sales Amazon attributes to the ads. Keywords, search terms, bids and budgets stay in your ads tools. ### Will ad costs be counted twice with my settlements? No. Channel profit counts the advertising in your books. Profit by product takes that out of what the marketplace left you, then takes each product's own spend from the ads reports. The two totals show side by side, with the difference. ### What about Sponsored Brands? Amazon reports Sponsored Brands' cost per campaign, not per product, so it's its own line under each marketplace: in the marketplace's profit and TACOS, not spread over products. ### Which marketplaces? Amazon, every marketplace, through the Amazon Ads API. Noon (an upload of Ad Manager's export), eBay Promoted Listings and Walmart Connect are next. Until then their advertising shows per marketplace, from your books. ### How far back, and how fresh? 60 days back when you connect, then every day. The last 15 days are fetched again daily, because Amazon keeps moving sales between days for 14 days after a click. ### What if a product has no cost yet? It still shows its sales and ads, marked Cost missing, with how to fix it: link its SKU to a product and add a delivery or opening stock with the cost. ### Does it work in several currencies? Yes. Each marketplace is in its own currency, and the summary is in your main currency at each day's exchange rate. ## Guides - [Profit by product, after ads: what every product really makes](https://bookalyze.com/guides/profit-after-ads.md) - [Connect Amazon Ads](https://bookalyze.com/guides/connect-amazon-ads.md) - [ACOS, TACOS, break-even ACOS and cost per click, with an example](https://bookalyze.com/guides/acos-tacos-break-even.md) - [Find and fix the products losing money, once a month](https://bookalyze.com/guides/fix-products-losing-money.md) - [Ad spend in your books and in the ads reports: why they differ, and why nothing counts twice](https://bookalyze.com/guides/ads-in-your-books.md) - [Advertising data in Bookalyze: what's read, what's kept, and the edge cases](https://bookalyze.com/guides/ads-data-and-limits.md) --- # Listing watch > An email when an Amazon listing's price, featured offer or rank changes. Web page: https://bookalyze.com/features/listing-watch Watch any ASIN on a connected Amazon marketplace, yours or a competitor's. Bookalyze checks it on a schedule and sends one email digest when something changes: price, featured offer, sellers, best seller rank, title, description, photos or what reviewers mention. ## What it watches Choose what matters for each listing, and who gets the email. - Price and the featured offer (Buy Box) - The sellers on the listing - Best seller rank - Title, description and photos - What reviewers mention ## How it works 1. **Connect Amazon.** Any marketplace your account sells on. 2. **Add an ASIN.** Choose what to watch, and daily, weekly or hourly. 3. **Get the digest.** One email when something changes. ## Questions ### Can I watch a competitor's listing? Yes, any ASIN on a marketplace your Amazon account is connected to. ### How many listings can I watch?
